Now Microsoft has’nt released any details on when they plan on announcing their Xbox 720 but that has’nt stopped rumors from circulating around the net. Now we get a new document of the alleged specs upon the release. The leaked document comes courtesy of VGleaks who says “The so-called Durango will contain 8GB of DRAM (slower than PS4’s 8GB GDDR5 RAM), with 32MB of ESRAM”. Check the new specs after the break.
Crytek CEO is claiming that the next gen consoles PS4 and Xbox 720 can not compete with PC’s. He says the next generation consoles dont have the power and technology, which has been the case for years but that has’nt stopped both the PS3 and Xbox 360 from moving off store shelves over the last 6 years. The power may be there but I think people choose consoles of PC’s for the game selections granted some developers release their games on PC people would rather play their games on consoles.“We used Moore’s Law. If you predict how hardware evolves at the current speed of evolution, and then take consumer pricing evolution, already two years ago you could see, whatever launches in 2013 or 2014 or 2015, will never beat a PC again,” Crytek boss Cevat Yerli told the site in a recent interview. The executive believes PC video games will “remain the place to be for the best possible visuals.”
On the heel of Sony announcing their PS4, Microsoft is now looking to announce their Xbox 720 this April. No word on a date, but we’re sure Microsoft will be pulling out all the stops to upstage Sony. After all this is the company that has the best selling console for the last 25 months. So far the only news we have on the console is an eight-core 1.6GHz CPU, 8GB of RAM and a 50GB 6x Blu-ray Disc drive and the dreaded news that the console will not be supporting backwards capabilities. The news of the announcement comes from website Computer and Video Games. If this news is true the Xbox 720 should be dropping before the 2013 holidays. Lets the hope the rumors are not an April fools joke.
Ok rumors are running crazy about the next Xbox not being able to play used games. No game retailer Gamestop made a statement about the rumors. Now from what they are saying good luck to Microsoft if their trying to sell a console that can’t play used games. Now GameStop spokesman Matt Hodges made a statement to Bloomberg “that the company’s internal polling suggested that many of its customers would simply boycott any new console that restricted the use of pre-owned games” I’m pretty sure if this rumor is true Microsoft might be putting themselves in bind with customers who may go else where like heading over to the PS4.”We know the desire to purchase a next-generation console would be significantly diminished if new consoles were to prohibit playing pre-owned games, limit portability, or not play new physical games,”
Early reports suggested that the Xbox 720 will not be able to play usable games. For the Xbox 720 to play games Xbox will need extensive internet connection to check disc registration in order to function, which means trouble for places like Game Stop who resell games. “Edge also reaffirms specs reported earlier, including a 1.6GHz eight-core AMD CPU, D3D11.x 800MHz graphics and 8GB of RAM, and it says we should expect a new Kinect sensor to launch alongside the console.Microsoft’s next Xbox is expected to be unveiled during the E3 gaming conference this summer.”
