Often times, rappers will spit a couple of bars previously said by another rapper – typically one they admire and/or said some dope sh*t. Such is the case with Drake on “Who Do You Love?”, but unfortunately, it cost him $100,000. A few of the opening bars on “Who Do You Love?” are pulled from Rappin 4-Tay’s 1994 hit “Playaz Club,” and 4-Tay wanted to have at least gotten some credit, if nothing else. He never officially filed a lawsuit against Drake, but I guess there were threats of one – because behind closed doors, the guys settled for a cool $100k for “borrowing” the lines. Listen to both records below. Wonder how Biggie would be taxing all these people if he was alive!
LMAO! So, Drake, “borrowed” a bar/line/lyric [your choice] from a 1994 track titled, “Playaz Club,” and the lyrics’ owner was highly offended until – he was paid off. Drop down bottom for the deets.
It is no question that Bompton repper YG has one of the hottest albums this year, and singles from the piece are getting the recognition it deserves! After ‘My Hitta’ going gold, YG can now celebrate his collaborative track featuring Drake, ‘Who Do You Love’ receive the same honor.
YG and his hitta, DJ Mustard tore down the stage during their appearance on, Jimmy Kimmel Live. The Compton emcee performs, “Who Do You Love,” “I Just Wanna Party,” and brings the homie Jeezy to the stage to perform, of course, “My Hitta” all off of the recently released, My Krazy Life. Check it out down bottom.
Who do ya love? If you ask YG, it’s the kiddies! The My Krazy Life rapper recently headed out to the Bay to promote his forthcoming debut album (dropping March 18th,) and wound up in a room full of children, reading aloud Dr. Seuss’ Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You? Child-friendly isn’t exactly the first thing that comes to mind when you think of YG and his lyrical content, so needless to say, this is a hilarious video! Check it out below.
