Earlier today, we reported that RGIII made some critical comments about his team after yesterday’s loss. It seems as if he isn’t the only Redskin who had something to say. The Washington Redskins lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 27-7 on Sunday, dropping their record to 3-7 and the bottom of the NFC East.  Robert Griffin III has been battling injuries and the team has just looked terrible overall.  During a montage for a “Sounds of the Game” type of segment played during “Football Night in America,” NBC showed a brief clip of RG3 and picked a soundbite that sounds terrible out of context.

Apparently Washington Redskins owner Dan Synder doesn’t care about public relations or the outlook of his team as he’s fighting to keep the name and doing whatever possible.  His latest move is a lawsuit against the five Native Americans who complained about the name to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

The fight to get the Washington Redskins to change their name is far from over.  At least 2,000 Native Americans carrying signs, playing drums and chanting “Who are we? Not your mascot!” began gathering on the University of Minnesota’s TCF Bank Stadium on Sunday morning to stage what they hope will be the largest-ever protest against the name of the Washington Redskins.
