U.S. Planning Troop Increase in Persian Gulf

American troops maybe withdrawn from Iraq, but U.S. officials don’t plan on withdrawing all of them from the area. The Obama administration  plans on increasing the amount of American troops in the Persian Gulf later this year. The repositioning of troops will allow the American military to keep a closer eye out on Iran and Iraq. The repositioning will also keep a combat team in Kuwait in case of a collapse of security in Iraq. American troops could remain in the Gulf until as last as 2014. Read more after the jump. President Obama Announces Troops In Iraq Will Be Withdrawn By End Of The Year!

President Obama released an official statement earlier today announcing that all American troops in Iraq will be withdrawn by the end of 2011. Currently there are 41,000 U.S. troops in Iraq and they will all be out of the country by December 31, 2011. President Obama has been promising to withdrawn troops from Iraq since his campaign.
