Camden has been called one of the most violent cities around, but now they’ve made a step towards making a change. After the death of 27 people last week, I believe there has been a change put forth with some folks. Over this past weekend, the citizens of Camden have given up about 1,200 guns to a church in exchange for cash. Nearly 90% of the guns were in working condition, but the plan is to destroy them all. Dickson Sporting Good suspended the sale of any “modern sporting rifles” in 511 stores all across the country, out of respect for the Netwown massacre victims, the company said. Man Killed For Protecting His Sister !!!
Courtney D. Smith (known in the neighborhood as Pooh) was stabbed and killed last night. After a confrontation broke out between his sister and her ex-boyfriend, Pooh stepped in to protect her. The ex-boyfriend stabbed him with a knife and shortly after being rushed to the hospital, Pooh was pronounced deceased. The ex remains on the run. This touches home for me, because Pooh was a friend of mine. He was a loving father and clearly a protector of his loved ones. He will forever be missed in the city of Trenton. Black Friday sales got real bananas in Georgia. People are pushing and shoving while stuck in a mosh pit at a store in Moultrie, Georgia. I don’t really understand how so many people subject themselves to this type of insanity annually. Sales force everyone to go to the stores, but then they all lose their cool after standing in line all night or camping out to get what they need. Are the sales really worth the wait or violence that occurs at these stores? Steph B
Gangs Increase, And So Does Violence
Gang violence is not a laughing matter, stats show that in New Jersey as gangs move into suburban areas, the crime rate goes up. These facts don’t necessary mean that gang members are just killing anyone for any reason but that those who are being killed in this case are mostly witnesses, people who are willing to speak against these gang members.In this case the gang members stick by the saying “snitches deserve stitches”.
