It seems like we’re getting announcements for a new summer festival nearly daily as of late! At this rate, we’re going to have a show to attend every single weekend from May to September…and I can’t say I’m mad at it! The lineup for the 2016 Afropunk Fest has just been announced, going down August 27 and 28 in Brooklyn at the Commodore Barry Park in Fort Greene. With over 60 acts on the bill, performers include Ice Cube, Cee-Lo Green, Janelle Monae, Tyler, The Creator, The Internet, Angel Haze and more.
Tyler, The Creator Announces First Annual Golf Wang Fashion Show
“I just make whatever clothes I want to wear for the next five months and then run that. I don’t really put deep, intricate thought into it—it’s more like a feeling,” Tyler, The Creator recently told Vogue. The innovative rapper has seen success in selling clothing and merchandise related to his brand and Odd Future for years, so putting together a real fashion show seems like a no-brainer at this point. “I just figured, ‘Why not? Why not do something different?’ he said. “Not everybody in the upper fashion world is wearing all-black Saint Laurent pieces and is super pretentious. I want to show them a different world.” Preach! The show will go down at Made LA on June 11, following Moschino’s Spring 2017 and Resort 2017 presentations. I think this will be really dope…

Tyler the Creator has just announced his next move. He will be going on a North American Tour. The tour is scheduled for 11 dates to cities such as Tempe, Austin, Minneapolis, Tulsa, and more. The tour will begin the end of May and go on through June. Tyler’s final date will be at the Bonnaroo Festival.
