Having left a few people dead and thousands without power, Irene has now been downgraded to a tropical storm. Although the storm has been downgraded doesn’t mean you should leave you house. Hit the jump for a list of some road closures and other hazards. @Julie1205
Hurricane Irene, now a category 3 storm will probably touch the United States this weekend. But before it gets here Irene is leaving her mark on The Bahamas. Uh Oh– Tropical Storm Irene reportedly “churned” across the northwestern Caribbean Sea on Sunday, showing every indication of becoming the season’s first hurricane. Irene is expected to reach hurricane strength by Monday as it nears the southern coast of the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
