Earlier on Twitter former talk show host, Geraldo Rivera, sparked some controversy after tweeting about the murder Trayvon Martin. Trayvon was walking in the rain, unarmed and minding his own business when he was shot and killed by a neighborhood watch member because he looked suspicious. Geraldo is now saying that the fact that he was wearing a hoodie is part of the reason he was shot. Geraldo spoke out telling parents, especially black and latino parents, that when children wearing hoodies they are setting themselves up for suspicion. He even made a reference to President Obama saying that if he had a son it he would look like Travon. Even Geraldo’s son spoke out against his father’s thoughts saying that he should be ashamed of himself. Read the tweets and his son’s reaction below. Julie1205

President Obama spoke out about the murder of Trayvon Martin, the innocent 17-year-old who was shot and killed in Florida for looking suspicious. Martin’s murder has sparked much controversy and has gotten major attention from all media outlets after the Sanford, Florida police department announced it would not be investigating the murder. Yesterday it was announced that the police chief handling the case temporarily stepped down and hopefully the new chief will fully investigate and bring Trayvon Martin some justice. Watch what President Obama said below. Julie1205
A non-Occupy Wall Street protest is scheduled for Union Square tonight at 6 p.m., when a rally is planned to express outrage over the murder of Trayvon Martin, a teenager who was murdered earlier this month by a self-appointed neighborhood watch leader while walking through a Florida gated townhouse community.
