Billboard’s Top 10 Album Sales, Week Ending 6/28/15 … Tori Kelly Debuts At #2!

Last week, both Trey Songz and King Los released new projects…and neither fared very well on the Billboard 200. Though Trey is very much in the public eye and constantly played on radio, Trigga Reloaded only did 17k in its first week, landing at 23. However, I do believe this was a re-release, so that’s not too surprising. Los, on the other hand, moved 8k units of his new God, Money, War, landing at 68. With no machine behind him (aka a major label), no radio play and no real promo, I’d say this is a pretty solid number. Beats Troy Ave and Tyga, that’s for sure! Also debuting this week is everyone’s new fav Tori Kelly, whose debut album Unbreakable comes in at number 2 with a solid 75k sold! Nice! Check out the full top 10 below.

Billboard’s Top 10 Album Sales, Week Ending 3/15/15 … Empire Soundtrack Debuts At #1!

FOX has a huge hit on their hands with the new show Empire, and its soundtrack is proving to be equally as successful! Just released last week, the Empire soundtrack tops the Billboard 200 today with 130,000 units sold. It’s the first TV soundtrack to debut at number 1 since 2010, when three different Glee albums arrived atop the list. The Empire soundtrack features contributions from the newbies in their cast such as everyone’s fav Jussie Smollett, as well as established artists among the likes of Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Estelle, Rita Ora, Juicy J and Courtney Love (all of which have acted on the show.) Coming in behind the Empire soundtrack is Madonna with her new album Rebel Heart at number 2, while both Drake and Big Sean remain in the top 10 this week as well. Check out the full list below!

Billboard’s Top 10 Album Sales, Week Ending 3/8/15 … Big Sean & Drake Remain In The Top 10

In his fourth week on the Billboard charts, Drake comes in at number 4 with If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late, selling another 73k copies. The album has now sold 721k copies in total. Big Sean is holding strong too, though, and sits at number 6 with another 58k sold of Dark Sky Paradise. Chris Brown and Tyga dropped a bit lower with Fan Of A Fan, and come in at number 21 with 24k sold. Get the full top 10 below!

Billboard’s Top 10 Album Sales, Week Ending 2/15/15 … Congrats To Drake On A #1 Album!

In just 3 days (as Billboard closes out its tally each week on Sunday nights and Drake dropped late Thursday night,) Drake managed to move 495k hard copies of his “mixtape,” If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late, as well as break a Spotify record with more than 17.3 million first-week streams. The project will undoubtedly go gold by next week’s charts (if not already,) and with Billboard’s new SPS (sales plus streaming) methodology, it’s actually already at 535k. No word whether this will ever be available other than digitally, but Drizzy’s official studio album, Views From the 6, is due out later this year. Billboard’s Top 10 Album Sales, Week Ending 1/25/15 … Congrats To Joey Bada$$ On A Top 5 Debut!

Fall Out Boy earn their third number 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart this week, as American Beauty/American Psycho arrives on top with 218,000 equivalent album units sold. The rock group will be hitting the road with Wiz Khalifa for the Boys of Zummer tour this summer, and you can get more info here. Also debuting high this week is Brooklyn native Joey Bada$$, coming in at number 5 with his debut album, B4.Da.$$! 58k is huge for an artist with relatively no radio play, and it also gives him the number ONE spot on both Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Rap Albums. Congrats! Not faring as well was rapper Lupe Fiasco, though, whose new album Tetsuo & Youth comes in at number 14 on the Billboard 200 with equivalent sales of 42k. Get the full top 10 below!

Billboard’s Top 10 Album Sales, Week Ending 1/18/15

While last week’s only debut was Rae Sremmurd’s SremmLife, the guys have fallen way out of the top 10 album sales chart for the Billboard 200, but there are 2 who are still holding strong – Nicki Minaj and J. Cole! With both The Pinkprint and 2014 Forest Hills Drive on the charts for over a month now, Nicki moved another 54k units this week, securing the number 6 spot, while Cole is comfy at number 10 with another 38k units.
