TIME Magazine isn’t known for Hip-Hop much at all, but a real, true-to-form RAP song made their Top 10 Songs list this year: Big Sean’s “Control,” featuring Kendrick Lamar and Jay Electronica. This song wasn’t mainstream by any means, and wasn’t even an official single, but Kendrick caused so many waves with his verse, people are STILL talking about it…even in songs. (J. Cole’s verse on “TKO“, anyone?) It’s dope to see such a prestigious publication like TIME recognize such a true hip-hop track, isn’t it? Check out their full top 10 list below!
Wait… Why Is Lil B In Time Magazine?!?
Lil B is featured on Time Magazine’s list of 140 best Twitter feeds of the year. On twitter the Based God wrote, “THANK YOU TO TIME MAGAZINE FOR GIVING LIL B ONE OF TOP CELEBRITY TWITTERS!! OF 2013 !! ONLY 11 PEOPLE WERE PICKED!! THIS IS TIME MAGAZINE!!” With over 645,000 followers and over 104,000 actual tweets, Lil B was one of only 11 celebrities to make the list, which included, Questlove from The Roots, Samuel L. Jackson, and Rashida Jones.
TIME Lists Their Top 10 Songs Of 2012 And Uhhh…Do You Agree With Them?
It’s that time of the year again when “Best Of” lists are going to be pumped out by the dozen. TIME has joined in on the fun with a bunch of lists of their own, but I want to focus on their top 10 songs specifically. The list is uh…interesting, to say the least.
