Last week, Jay Z announced he’d inked a two-year development deal with The Weinstein Co. for various movies and TV shows. In the press release, Hov said a few projects were already in the works, and today, he’s announced the first one. With a six-part docuseries, the Roc Nation mogul will tell the story of Kalief Browder, the high school student who was accused of stealing a backpack, and was sent to Rikers Island for 3 years without trial – two of which were spent in solitary confinement. He committed suicide shortly after his release.
