Tyga released his oft-delayed The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty on Spotify for free as a surprise last week, though only available to stream. A few days later, on a Friday, it was made available on iTunes.
Tyga just dropped the FKi-produced “Pleazer” with Boosie Badazz, set to live on T-Raww’s oft-delayed forthcoming album, The Gold Album. Though the song is a banger, (and a bit of nostalgia as it references Too $hort’s 80s hit “Freaky Tales,”) the rapper is definitely making us raise our eyebrows with some of the lyrics.
Back at it with the music label Cash Money, Tyga hits up Twitter to inform fans that his fourth LP, The Gold Album has been pushed back yet again. More below.
It’s been a long, long journey up until this point, but it appears that Tyga’s The Gold Album will finally be seeing the light of day soon! After tons of push-backs throughout 2014, Tyga shocked the world with a rant earlier this fall, stating that the cause was simply his label and their lack of support, and revealing that he is no longer happy on YMCMB. He later elaborated in an interview with VIBE Magazine, expressing his desires to get off of the label and his plans to do so. However, Birdman later told our own Funk Flex that Tyga’s contract was staying put. Shortly after Birdman spoke to Flex, Tyga revealed a release date of December 23 for The Gold Album, which seemed to indirectly tell us that his label issues had been resolved.
Despite all of the drama with his label, Tyga has gotten a release date for his oft-delayed The Gold Album. The project will be released on December 23, according to T-Raww’s recent tweet. No word on whether it will be distributed through YMCMB, though one can assume so since Birdman said he has zero plans of releasing Tyga from his contract.
After being spotted together in the studio last month, Tyga has officially revealed that Kanye West will be executive producing his next studio album, The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty.. Though this seems kind of random, the guys’ wifeys have become quite close over the last couple of years as neighbors in Calabasas, so it’s natural there’d be some bro-bonding in there as well!
