Tech Talk News: Google’s Self-Driving Car Gets into an Accident

  One of Google’s famous self-driving cars has reportedly been involved in one of its first traffic accidents.The accident occurred near Google’s Mountain View headquarters in California. According to a report from Jalopnik, the accident involved two Toyota Priuses. A scary moment at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh Thursday as an F-16 fighter jet slid off the runway and crashed into the grass.All morning you could see and hear two F-16 fighter jets tearing through the sky.Just after 11 A.M., as the two Alabama Air Guard jets were coming in, one of those seemed to be going too fast to stop in time and ran out of runway.Witnesses said it looked like trouble from the moment the jet touched down. @TatWZA @Yungjohnnybravo

Tech Talk Cars: GM Announces Real-World Smart-Grid EV Pilot

Hundreds of Chevrolet Volt drivers will participate in a first smart-grid pilot in an effort to increase energy efficiency and offer lower charging costs, GM said. Modeled after nationwide programs that allow utility companies to stop and start participating customers’ home air conditioning units as needed when electricity demand is high–reducing electricity bills, GM and OnStar’s smart-grid solution builds on this concept, but to a much more advanced and sophisticated level, GM said. @YungJohnnybravo @TatWZA
