Auto Talk: Toyota teases all-new Avalon ahead of New York debut

Toyota has just released a teaser image of what it says is an all-new, designed-in-America sedan that will debut at the 2012 New York Auto Show next week. It isn’t immediately clear if the vehicle will be a concept or production car, but Toyota has issued no showcar qualifiers, suggesting it’s something that will be in dealers soon. Described as having “an elegant yet athletic look,” the teased rear end most likely belongs to the next-generation Avalon full-size sedan. Funk Flex

We hope you like the look of the new Lexus GS. The Japanese luxury automaker has made it clear it aims to spread the new “spindle” grille found on the sedan across the brand. During an interview with Takayuki Katsuda, chief engineer for the RX line, four teaser images were splashed across the screen, including what looks to be the next-generation LS. If that’s true, the model will wear a heavily accented version of the Predator maw, complete with a chrome or brushed metal accent frame. Likewise, the headlamps will boast metal (or metal-effect) trim work of their own, complete with a dual-projector array. Funk Flex

So where are we at with the 2013 Nissan Altima? We’ve seen an overhead shot teased, along with a peek at its front fascia. We’ve seen a shot of the car leaked in a promotional video, and of course, our spy photographers snapped the car in a conventional disguise, but got a good look at its interior in the process. With dozens of major automakers competing to separate us from our hard-earned cash in return for the newest, greatest development in motorized transportation, there are new cars making their debut just about every day. But the vast majority of them are not, of course, from Ferrari. Even with four production model lines, the purveyor of exotic performance machinery doesn’t have a new model to roll out every day. Auto Talk: Kia releases second Track’Ster teaser ahead of Chicago debut

Kia has officially dropped new teaser for its Chicago-bound Track’Ster concept. Word has it the new hatch will be based largely on the company’s Soul five-door, though with a few notable tweaks. For starters, designers scrapped the rear doors for more of a hot hatch look. A new front fascia looks to be part of the recipe as well, and odds are the Track’Ster will rock suitably outrageous wheels befitting a true concept. Funk Flex
