Things got worse for Geno Smith after the Jets disaster game against the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. The Jets were shutout 31-0 and Smith was benched in favor of Michael Vick after halftime and completing just four of 12 passes for 27 yards and an interception. Following the game information was released that Smith missed the team meeting the night before and his reasoning just put him in more hot water.

Carmelo is trying to be more of a leader this year. He held a players only meeting after the Knicks lost to the Bobcats earlier this week. “We shut the door after the game and talked it out a little bit and tried to figure out what was happening,” Anthony said Friday. “We’ve got to want it, we’ve got to want to do it. We’ve got to believe in ourselves, and right now we’re playing like we don’t even believe in ourselves,” Anthony said. “It’s just effort.” Melo went on to address the issue with turnovers, which have led to some ugly loses.
