SXSW continues with a ‘Prince Avalanche’ screening starring Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch. The movie is about two highway workers who spend the summers working away from their families. Jim Carrey has recently come out of hibernation to star alongside Steve Carrell and Olivia Wilde in ‘The Incredible Burt Wonderstone’, which was released at SXSW this weekend. The movie’s description is “Las Vegas magician Burt Wonderstone (Carrell) as he attempts to reunite with his former partner Anton Marvelton (Steve Buscemi) to take on dangerous street magician Steve Gray (Carrey).” Sounds like wherever there is a combination of Steve Carrell and Jim Carrey, the movie has to be hilarious. In Austin, Tx at SXSW, The Hater App was launched. The App allows you to share the things you hate and it works similar to Instagram. The App is free for all iOS platforms and they plan to release to an Andriod version in a few months.
This year’s SXSW in Austin, MakerBot unveiled its Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanner, which is to be used with MakerBot’s 3D printer. With the MakerBot Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanner, now everyone will be able to scan a physical item, digitize it, and print it in 3D with little or no design experience. As of right now, the Digitizer 3D scanner is still a prototype, and MakerBot said it will spend time testing, scanning, and 3D printing the items scanned with it. check out the gallery for additional pictures.
Just when concert goers and press thought they’d make it out of the Northeast right in the nick of time for SXSW, they got hit where it hurts–flight delays.
