Singer Michel’le’s Lifetime biopic, Surviving Compton, will premiere this weekend. It will go through the Compton native’s career, while also showcasing her tumultuous relationships with both Dr. Dre and Suge Knight – the former of which is shown beating her in the film. Dre has since threatened to sue both Lifetime and Michel’le (with whom he has a 25-year-old son) for defamation, but it looks like she’s not worried!

The success of Straight Outta Compton opened the door for many other biopics, even more so for additional storylines related to N.W.A. Singer Michel’le falls into the latter category, and her biopic will make its debut on Lifetime next month. Surviving Compton will tell the story of the singer/songwriter, detailing her tumultuous relationships with both Dr. Dre (with whom she shares a son) and his enemy, Suge Knight.
