Nicki Minaj skipped out on Hot 97’s annual Summer Jam concert last night, so instead, Hot 97 personality Funk Flex filled her time slot with a prolonged set on the turntables. He used the opportunity to ride for his co-worker Peter Rosenberg (the reason behind her pulling out), saying Nicki was too scared to touch down. After Wayne pulled Nicki Minaj from performing at Summer Jam after Peter Rosenberg said “f*ck Starships” earlier in the night, Rosenberg and his co-host Cipha Sounds took to the Hot 97 airwaves this morning to address the issue. Despite reports that history was “ruined” because Nicki Minaj didn’t bring out her “scheduled surprise guest” Lauryn Hill last night at Summer Jam, Lauryn took to her Twitter account to clear up the rumors. The legendary musician says she was in fact NOT a surprise guest of Minaj’s, but rather Nas, who WAS a surprise from Nicki. A little confusing but you get the point she’s making.
