Check It Out: NYC Charter Schools Getting How Much In Grant Money To Teach Who???
NYC Charter schools will be getting $4.5 Million in state grant money to teach regular public schools. I don’t know if this is such a good idea i mean if the state had a couple mills laying around why not invest in after school tutoring programs for the kids, more books, more teaching software for the teachers, more supplies, more teachers, more help over all. Wow! NYC Prep School Teacher Assigns Students To Write WHAT Kind Of Notes ?!
A few of the parents with teens who attend York Preparatory School were pissed off when they learned that the high school’s English teacher instructed students to compose suicide letters in first-person narrative. The assignment was doled out after the class read The Secret Life of Bees and specifically, they were told to write the letter from the perspective of May Boatwright, the character who kills herself. Having your phone stolen from you can cause lot’s of havoc in your life, but finding out that the thief or thieves that has your phone plus hundreds of others makes you wonder how safe technology can really be. Cops seized hundreds of stolen iPhones, iPads and iPod touches from the Queens home of three St. John’s University students. Nice! Washington School Cancels Classes Due To Good Weather
Bellingham Christian School in Bellingham, Washington canceled classes today on account that the weather would be nice. The principle apparently sent letters to parents earlier this week saying they would most likely cut out a day of school to enjoy the sunshine. The principle even said that the day off was a good move in an effort to “promote positive school culture”. This has to be the most awesome story of the day!
