Nicki Minaj has broken yet another record in her 5 year career. After already becoming the highest charting female rapper in the UK, getting the most VEVO views for a debut in one day with “Stupid H*e” (the record has since been broken, however), becoming the first female rapper with 7 entries in Billboard’s Top 10 Singles chart and more, the HB can now add another accolade to her list. And it’s all thanks to “Starships”! Continue reading for more. Marisa Mendez
A little over two weeks after Lil Wayne made the now-infamous decision to pull Nicki Minaj and YMCMB from Hot 97’s Summer Jam lineup after a remark made by Hot 97 personality Peter Rosenberg at the pre-show, he finally spoke on the incident to MTV. His comments hit the blogs last night so early this morning on his show with Cipha Sounds and K. Foxx, Peter Rosenberg served up a response. Watch him “Kick The Realness” below. Marisa Mendez
Nicki Minaj skipped out on Hot 97’s annual Summer Jam concert last night, so instead, Hot 97 personality Funk Flex filled her time slot with a prolonged set on the turntables. He used the opportunity to ride for his co-worker Peter Rosenberg (the reason behind her pulling out), saying Nicki was too scared to touch down. He plans to continue speaking on the issue tonight at 7pm on Hot 97 & Hot97.com. Watch the video from his set last night below. Marisa Mendez
After Wayne pulled Nicki Minaj from performing at Summer Jam after Peter Rosenberg said “f*ck Starships” earlier in the night, Rosenberg and his co-host Cipha Sounds took to the Hot 97 airwaves this morning to address the issue. The guys look at it as Nicki used Rosenberg as a scapegoat of sorts, because they feel she was too scared to touch the stage with the infamously brutal crowd, who have NO issues boo-ing someone right off.
