The FDA has announced that Chantix, the anti-smoking drug, may increase the risk of suicide and suicidal thoughts in patients. Researchers looked at 3,000 cases of people with suicidal thoughts who were taking an anti-smoking drug and 90% of them were on Chantix. The FDA has not pulled the drug from shelves and insists that it’s not a harmful medication. Read more after the jump. Julie1205

NYC Smoking Ban Extended
First it was restaurants and bars, then it was city parks, beaches and pedestrian plazas, and in 90 days, another area will be taken away from NYC smokers. Governor Cuomo signed a bill yesterday that officially bans smoking on all outdoor train platforms operated by the MTA. Ash_Bankz
