Last night, television staple Saturday Night Live premiered their 40th season. For the premiere episode, they had host Chris Pratt and singer Ariana Grande handle the music duties. As Saturday Night Live enters its 40th season this fall, the show’s most tenured African-American cast member has made plans for it to be his last. After 12 seasons on SNL, Kenan Thompson will be reportedly moving to Los Angeles with his wife Christina and their newborn, and has plans for a new TV show. He’d previously planned to leave after last season and work on a sitcom, but nixed the idea after SNL‘s producer, Lorne Michaels, asked him to stay on. Best of luck to the Thompson family on the future!
