The Los Angeles Dodgers have the highest payroll in baseball with no championship to show for it, so they’ve been making some changes. A major change announced Thursday morning is that the Dodgers trade Matt Kemp to the San Diego Padres.
I guess you can also call him Johnny Baseball as the San Diego Padres drafted Johnny Manziel in the 28th round with 837th pick.
I guess when you win the biggest award in college football, you should except to be given much more attention than before. Johnny Manziel is handling it all in stride. He has been up close and personal in the media ever since winning the award back in December. When he was in high school, he was being recruited just as much for baseball as he was football. Well after seeing him at the San Diego Padres stadium yesterday, it looks like he could still play baseball. According to sources he hit a homerun during batting practice, and then re-enacted his famous play against Alabama last season, as he threw out the first pitch. Watch it after the jump.
The bench clearing brawl that occurred between the Dodgers and the Padres didn’t end on the field, it continued into the parking lot. Dodgers slugger Matt Kemp confronted San Diego’s Carlos Quentin as they were leaving Petco Park and things got real testy as police had to intervene. Read more after the jump.
