Writer and commentator, Bill Simmons, of ESPN finds himself in hot water once again for not being able to keep his comments to himself. ESPN has suspended Simmons for three weeks after taking shots at NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, on ESPN’s ‘Grantland’ podcast. Simmons firmly believes Goodell had been aware of Rice’s violent actions, even calling him a liar as expressed, “And for him to go in that press conference and pretend otherwise, I was so insulted. It is getting worse and worse for Roger Goodell and the NFL and now there is even more news that shows proof some shady s**t is going on. Reports have evidence that the Ravens organization as well as commissioner Goodell knew months ago about the newly released tape of Ray Rice punching his wife and knocking her out in an elevator at a casino in Atlantic City.
It is safe to say NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has rubbed alot of people across the country the wrong way with his actions lately. The decision to only suspend Ray Rice for two games sparked outrage itself. Add to that the possibility that Goodell lied to the face of fans about not seeing the infamous tape of Rice striking his wife in the elevator, and it is easy to see why he is not in good standing. He held a press conference today, mainly to try and save face but one person in attendance decided to interrupt and speak his honest thoughts.
