50 Cent’s 2015 single “I’m The Man” has officially been certified gold, which means it’s moved over 500k copies between sales and streaming. Congrats!
After being released in February as a TIDAL-only exclusive, Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo has been certified platinum. The project later expanded to other streaming platforms, but has thus far remained only a streaming album, which makes the sales and consequently its platinum status that much more significant. Though Ye did promise that hard copies of TLOP would eventually hit stores, they never materialized, and he’s already at work on the next project. At least we got updated versions of the songs on the album along the way! Check out a pic of TLOP‘s platinum plaque below. Congrats to Ye and his team!
After 7 months on the charts, Future’s album EVOL has officially been certified gold. This means that fans have streamed and purchased the project in excess of 500,000 times! EVOL becomes the fourth gold-certified hip-hop project of 2016, following behind Drake’s Views, Kevin Gates Islah (he’s quietly MOVIN’ out here) and though some might not consider it hip-hop, Zayn’s Mind of Mine. (The RIAA feels that Zayn should be classified as such.) The certification was certainly assisted by the success of the Weeknd-assisted “Low Life,” which was certified double platinum earlier this month.
Things are lookin alll the way up for Folarin as he snags four more gold and platinum plaques to add to his list of accolades.
