Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani does not deny he is a huge Giants fan. So much so that he even says he would continue to take Eli Manning as the quarterback over the team even if Peyton was somehow available. But as a man who used to control NYC he still knows a thing or two about the other New York team, the Jets. They are off to a rocky start at 1-6, but have looked good at times. Giuliani says don’t you dare blame coach Rex Ryan, you better take a good look at the players they have!
The New York Jets were touted as having one of the best defenses in the league but it sure doesn’t look like it as they head to Foxboro to take on the Patriots with a 1-5 record. Granted they’ve dealt with numerous injuries including CB Dee Miliner suffering a season-ending torn achilles. The days of having “Revis Island” are gone as he’s now playing for their rival, a fact that makes Jets’ coach Rex Ryan feel ill.
It always seems easier to talk about someone when you no longer have to deal with them on a regular basis. When Braylon Edwards was on the Jets he never once spoke about Rex Ryan negatively, but now he seems to think Rex is selfish. When he speaks on Geno Smith he actually does make a little sense, but it seems Braylon forgot he had some off the field issues when he was with the Jets as well. Hit the jump. Do you agree with what he says?
There is a big difference between something allegedly happening and something actually happening. That is the stance Jets head coach Rex Ryan is taking in regards to one of his rookie wide receivers, Quincy Enunwa, being accused of domestic violence. The Jets are playing a dangerous public relations game by doing this, especially considering the new tough NFL policy on domestic violence, but at the moment they feel it would be overreacting to take measures against the kid. Hit the jump.
Rex Ryan is being Rex Ryan. We’re getting closer and closer to the 2014-15 NFL season which means you can expect some golden quotes from the New York Jets coach.
