After Papoose unexpectedly bum-rushed the SJXX stage during Kendrick Lamar’s set, he has been the most talked about thing in the Hip-Hop world. The BK-native recently appeared on RapFix Live where he spit a freestyle, and of course, Papoose referred back to his Summer Jam take-over throughout the whole thing. Check it out after the jump.
People have been waiting for this one. Papoose has been doing plenty from releasing the single, “What’s My Name” with his wife Remy Ma to taking us on his journey for the next album, “The Nacirema Dream“. He shows his skill and extreme talent with the bars he spits in this video. This heavy dreamer also explains where he went wrong with the “politics and bulls**t” as an artist in this industry back then. Drop down bottom and check it out.
Papoose is getting ready to drop “Nacerima Dream.” This track features his wife Remy Ma and it is called “What’s My Name.” Click below to check out the song.
Papoose says he has been working on this album his entire life, but due to situations out of his control it was pushed back and now it’s officially ready. The title Nacirema is American backwards and Papoose has an interesting reason for why he chose this title. With features from Erykah Badu, Mobb Deep, DJ Premier, and even his wife Remy Ma, who is currently incarcerated. Hit the jump for more.
It is black history month, so why not – right? Future released a remix to “Karate Chop” featuring Lil Wayne. In Wayne’s verse he states, “Beat that pussy up like Emmett Till.” Now, in case you didn’t know who Emmett Till was, he was a 14-year-old boy who in 1955 was mutilated, severely beaten, pistol whipped, shot, and murdered for trying to talk to a white woman (Sickening incident). Reps from the Till Estate are not liking the reference Wayne made, so now they are speaking out. The YMCMB founder is not the only artist to bring Emmett Till’s name into hip-hop – Kanye West and Remy Ma. What can you say about something like this? It is a vital piece of history that’s being butchered, however it’s only a comparison and there is the first Amendment. Drop down bottom and listen to what the reps have to say.
