Vado’s No Longer On Interscope…And Here’s Why!

It’s been pretty quiet for Vado after his killer intro to the scene in 2010, followed by his signing to Interscope in early 2011. Since then, we haven’t gotten much from the Dip Set-affiliate and it turns out, part of it is because he’s not even on the label anymore! Grand opening, grand closing, huh? Find out what happened via an excerpt from his XXL interview below. Marisa Mendez

Another Artist Leaves Young Jeezy’s CTE Imprint

Earlier this month, arguably the most known artist on Young Jeezy’s CTE record label, Freddie Gibbs, announced his departure from the clique. Shortly afterward, Jeezy himself confirmed the departure while announcing he’d also signed a new distribution deal for the imprint, so he kind of wanted to clean the slate and start fresh. So, it comes as no surprise that another artist on the label has now announced his departure as well. A few hours ago, Scrilla took to his Twitter to reveal the news, but ensuring fans that there’s no bad blood between him and the Snowman. Check out his tweet in the gallery. I’m assuming it’s only a matter of time before Tone Trump‘s announcement at this point! Marisa Mendez

Young Jeezy Comments On Dropping Freddie Gibbs; CTE Finds A Home At Atlantic Records

Yesterday night, we reported that rapper Freddie Gibbs could very well have been dropped by Young Jeezy’s CTE label, judging by tweets and various sources. This morning Freddie himself confirmed it during a radio interview and now, Jeezy has released a statement regarding the matter. Also in the press release, it was announced that his CTE label was moving to Atlantic Records, where Jeezy is currently Senior VP of A&R at. You may recall this is also where MMG moved to earlier today! Turns out, the urban division of Warner Bros. Records where they were housed is now defunct! Check out Jeezy’s statement below. Huh?! Rick Ross’ MMG Imprint Moves To Atlantic Records…Where YOUNG JEEZY Is Senior VP of A&R!

Hmm, this is an interesting move. Here’s the situation: as we all know, Rick Ross and Young Jeezy have been feuding for quite some time. The beef really came to a head at this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards in September, when the pair got into a bit of a scuffle backstage. Yesterday, Ross had an interview on Miami’s 99 Jamz. In the first segment, he discussed the reasoning behind the cancellation of the remaining dates of his MMG Tour. Shortly after that video hit the web, the second part came out…and he discusses the beef with Jeezy, saying that choking him is “an option.” Uh, yikes! Then the station tweeted a bombshell: Ross had announced he’ll be merging his MMG imprint with the label that Jeezy was recently announced Senior VP of A&R at, Atlantic. Though Ross as a solo artist remains at Def Jam, MMG had been signed to Warner. I doubt Jeezy will have any say on anything MMG, but it is an interesting move to say the least. Check out the “choking” interview and 99 Jamz’ tweet below. Marisa Mendez

It wasn’t even that long ago that Freddie Gibbs announced his signing to Young Jeezy’s CTE imprint, but it looks like that situation has already folded. We’ve only gotten some collaborative songs from Jizzle and Freddie since the signing, so perhaps it was a matter of frustration? Details below. Marisa Mendez
