Pusha T is urging California voters to go for Prop 64 (to legalize weed.) “If California’s Prop 64 passes, no one will ever be incarcerated for marijuana again,” Push says in a new PSA. “Marijuana arrests are the engine that’s driving the war on drugs. It’s one of the number one reasons people trying to reenter their communities are sent back to prison. I’m not a California voter, but I know when good legislation passes in the biggest star, other states follow. And that’s an important step in ending mass incarceration around the country. What’s most important to me is keeping people who are coming home, home. If ending prohibition on marijuana reduces recidivism, then let’s do it.” Check out the full video below. Legalize it!

Williams, CNN commentator Marc Lamont Hill, and political activist Van Jones all made an appearance in a new PSA that centralizes around police brutality. The powerful PSA features snippets from police recent police killings and also words from Harry Belafonte.

If anybody is a cautionary tale about fireworks safety, it’s Jason Pierre-Paul. The New York Giants defensive end lost his index finger, his thumb and almost lost his career after a fireworks accident last Fourth of July. Luckily for JPP he was able to persevere through the injury and not only keep his career, but also able to be here to continue to enjoy life with his son. Now he’s taking part in a PSA about fireworks safety to help prevent something like that from happening to others.
President Obama and Steph Curry teamed up for a PSA, directed at getting more people involving with mentoring the youth in their communities. The commercial is pretty funny but the message is very clear and it was presented very well. The video was shown Saturday on ABC’s “NBA Countdown” ahead of Curry’s playoff opener with the defending champion Golden State Warriors against the Houston Rockets on Saturday.
