Monday, Pharrell appeared as a special guest on the Ellen DeGeneres Show where he revealed the change he would like to see in the White House for the upcoming 2016 presidential election. According to Pharrell, “It’s time for a woman to be in there.” He explained to Ellen, although he does love our current President Barack Obama, women approach issues differently. He said, “Women think about things in a holistic way. It’s not so individual. I’m saying I’m happy to be a man, but I love women. The thing is, if we had somebody looking after our country that thought about things as a whole, I just feel like it just would be different. Not that I don’t love our current president. Juvenile illiteracy has been taking its toll on American communities for a long time and Pharrell is stepping in to make a difference. The “Frontin” singer has decided to team up with Penguin Youth Publishers and non-profit literacy organization Firstbook to donate over 50,000 books to underprivileged children nationwide.
