Nicki Minaj skipped out on Hot 97’s annual Summer Jam concert last night, so instead, Hot 97 personality Funk Flex filled her time slot with a prolonged set on the turntables. He used the opportunity to ride for his co-worker Peter Rosenberg (the reason behind her pulling out), saying Nicki was too scared to touch down. After Wayne pulled Nicki Minaj from performing at Summer Jam after Peter Rosenberg said “f*ck Starships” earlier in the night, Rosenberg and his co-host Cipha Sounds took to the Hot 97 airwaves this morning to address the issue. The guys look at it as Nicki used Rosenberg as a scapegoat of sorts, because they feel she was too scared to touch the stage with the infamously brutal crowd, who have NO issues boo-ing someone right off. Lauryn Hill Speaks Out On Summer Jam…Says She Was NEVER Set To Be Nicki Minaj’s Guest
Despite reports that history was “ruined” because Nicki Minaj didn’t bring out her “scheduled surprise guest” Lauryn Hill last night at Summer Jam, Lauryn took to her Twitter account to clear up the rumors. The legendary musician says she was in fact NOT a surprise guest of Minaj’s, but rather Nas, who WAS a surprise from Nicki. A little confusing but you get the point she’s making. Peter Rosenberg Addresses “Starships” Comment
As you all know by now, Nicki Minaj & the YMCMB camp pulled out of Hot 97’s Summer Jam because of a comment made by morning show host Peter Rosenberg on the festival stage. “I know there some chicks here waiting to sing “Starships” later, I’m not talking to y’all right now, f*ck that bullsh*t,” Rosenberg told the crowd. “I’m here to talk about real hip-hop. The people here to see A$AP Rocky, people to see Schoolboy Q!” After finishing out the show last night and doing his weekly Sunday night slot on Hot 97 where he talks to underground artists, Peter took to his Twitter and the airwaves to speak on the situation this morning.
