Mike Zombie became known to the masses in 2013 for his production on Drake’s smash single “Started From The Bottom.” He then signed to OVO as a producer, and later got another major placement on DJ Khaled’s “They Don’t Love You No More” with Jay Z, Rick Ross, French Montana and Meek Mill. (Later, the remix would become Remy Ma’s first post-jail release.) However, many don’t know Mike is a talented rapper as well. The Willingboro, New Jersey native released his first mixtape, The End Of The Beginning, in 2013 and Rebel Without A Cause in 2015. As he gears up for his next project, Humble Genius, the rapper/writer/producer spoke with LifeIsTremendez for their New Jersey spotlight series about his standing with OVO, what he’s working on and more. Check out a few highlights below.
Earlier this month, OVO mysteriously announced a new group named dvsn, without really announcing much of anything at all. It seems we’ll know a bit more about the singers come April 1, however, as we’ll be getting their debut project, Sept. 5. The 10-track project will contain the four songs they’ve previously released via SoundCloud, but no features are listed just yet – if there are any at all. Check out the full tracklist in the gallery, and pre-order on iTunes here.
Everyone is in love with Bryson Tiller. Tiller is unique in many different ways. His story touches a lot of people. For those who don’t know, Tiller borrowed money from friends to get the studio equipment to make the single “Don’t” which turned out to be a huge hit. Living proof that dreams do come true.
2016 looks like it is going to be a big year in music. Kanye is getting ready to drop an album, Rihanna’s album just recently came out and is on top of the Billboard charts, we are paientlly waiting for Drake’s album to drop in April and Beyonce is still calmly slaying and dropping great music right before our very eyes. PARTYNEXTDOOR seems to be following in the same foot steps of these artists because he is saying that he is back in the studio and he is cooking up something special this year. Check out the rest of the story after the jump.
Noah “40” Shebib was the latest guest on “The Smokebox,” in which he lit up some tree, talked music, and more with B-Real. In the interview, the OVO producer talks about the status of Drake’s upcoming album Views From the 6. Hit the jump for more.
