This Years Oscars Will Feature A Tribute To James Bond !!!!
Last year’s Skyfall has become the first Bond film to gross more than $1 billion worldwide, and the film marked 50 years of James Bond movies, starting with 1962’s Dr. No.Through 23 films (24 including Sean Connery’s comeback in 1983’s “unofficial” Never Say Never Again), the series has only won two awards: 1964’s Goldfinger and 1965’s Thunderball both picked up wins for Best Effects. Still, Skyfall’s Oscar stock may have gotten a serious boost from its recent Producers Guild of America nomination for Best Picture.The Oscar show will air Sunday, Feb. 24. Russ B
Lincoln Nominated For Golden Globe
The movie about the great Civil War President, entitled Lincoln, has been nominated for a Golden Globe causing the Oscar’s to take an extra look at the film. Though the Golden Globes is a great honor, if you know your history then you know Lincoln didn’t fare very well in theaters, but with the nom from the GG the people behind this piece are hoping they can have their names called when the Oscars nominations come out. Rick Ross Added To The List For Possible Oscar Nomination
I’m not sure what the Oscar nominees’ cut offs are, but apparently it’s not too far from their air date of February 24th. For other awards shows like the Grammy’s, your album had to have come out by a certain date (months and months before) to qualify for a nomination. Ross, however, could possibly score one for the 2013 Oscars with his song “100 Black Coffins,” off the soundtrack of the yet-to-be-released Django Unchained movie (out Christmas Day). Though he wouldn’t be the first rapper to take home an Oscar (Three 6 Mafia won in 2006 with “It’s Hard Out Here For a Pimp” from Hustle & Flow; Eminem in 2003 with 8 Mile‘s “Lose Yourself”), his chances are rather slim that he’ll even get a nomination: 1 in 75, to be exact.
