Nokia Launches Music+ Service For $3.99 Per Month

Nokia as we all known has a dying mobile business, to try to bring the company back they launched today their Nokia Music service. The company is looking to compete with Apple’s iTunes and Spotify (good luck to them on that), Lumia smartphone users can subscribe for $3.99 per month and download all the music they want for that price which is’nt so bad. Nokia says “allows you to download music at six times the existing quality” and lets you “set rules to only download high quality when you’re on WiFi” Look for the service to roll out in full in the coming weeks.

The annual pre-Grammy Roc Nation and Nokia Brunch at the Soho House had the usual suspects in attendance, including Beyonce, Rihanna, Solange, and Destiny’s Child. Jay-Z is nominated for 6 Grammys, Miguel for 5, Rihanna for 3 Grammys and Beyonce is nominated for 1. Other celebs who graced the event were Miguel, Timbaland, The-Dream, Jill Scott, Kylie Minogue, MC Lyte, Jordan Sparks, Santigold, Melanie Fiona, Diane Warren, Christina Milian and Jordin Sparks. WTF…Another Music Streaming Service, And From Nokia?!?!

Nokia this morning announced a premium version of their music streaming service, called Nokia Music+, that let’s you listen to unlimited music for only $3.99 a month. There’s a free version of this already available, called Nokia Music, that gives you free music with ads, not unlike Spotify. But Nokia undercuts Spotify completely by charging well underneath the $10 that the popular service offers. But there’s one glaring issue with it. Find out what it is after the jump!


Nokia Said To Be Selling Mobile Business To Microsoft and Huawei

Things have gotten so bad for Nokia, that Analysts believe that the company will abandon the mobile business because they just cant compete with Apple and Android. And plain and simple their Lumia smartphones simply just flopped. The Analysts believe that Nokia will just sell its assets to Microsoft and Huawei this year. RIM Makes First Patent Payment to Nokia For $65 Million

Last week we reported that RIM settled a patent dispute with Nokia, but the amount of the settlement was’nt disclosed when RIM and Nokia settled. The word is RIM recently made a one time payment to Nokia for $65 million . Now that the payment is made RIM and Nokia will enter a settlement of all patent litigation between both companies in United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Germany. And no further action will be taken on Nokia’s end. The payment will end up in Nokia’s 3rd quarter earnings in 2013. Yungjohnnybravo x TatWZA


Tech Talk News: RIM Settles Patent Feud With Nokia With Payment

2 companies that are both on the downslide both came to an end to their patent feud today. RIM agreed to make a 1 time payment to Nokia. I guess Nokia is doing whatever it can to stay a float. The once mighty company just fell to Samsung as the number 1 company with mobile shipments. The feud with RIM started in 2008 after there patent contract ended. Neither RIM or Nokia has announced what the patent was or how much RIM will payout to Nokia, but the terms were settled with a n arbitration tribuna. After a few days of deliberation the arbitration tribunal said they “found unanimously for Nokia on all but one of its requests for declaratory relief, and denied all but one of RIM’s requests for declaratory relief.
