Grammys President And Lauryn Hill Still Pointing Fingers After Hill Was A No-Show
Although fans were expecting a surprise appearance from Lauryn Hill, during The Weeknd’s performance at Monday night’s Grammys (February 15), the singer never showed up leaving fans disappointed and confused. In a statement released by her rep, Lauryn Hill offered some insight to her absence, claiming “Any performance that could have happened was never confirmed, and should not have been advertised as such.” Following Hill’s statement, Grammys president Neil Portnow spoke with USA Today and disputed Hill’s claim saying she showed up for the dress rehearsal earlier that day and then never showed up for the actual performance. He said, “Our intention was, and we were ready, right up to the moment of the performance, for her to step up on stage.” Now, Hill’s camp has responded to Portnow’s statement disputing the claims. Diva Much? Faith Evans A No Show WHERE?!
Well, I guess she really wasn’t feeling it anymore. If you’ve followed any of the R&B Divas saga, you know that there were rumors before season two began that Faith Evans would not be returning to the show. However, in the midst of her doing a couple of interviews, she said that she was absolutely coming back, primarily because she was the creator and executive producer of the show. But halfway through the season, Faith told the rest of the ladies that she had to return to Los Angeles, where she lives with her children, because she’s “raising teenage boys and I need to be there.” That was about two episodes ago and it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing her anymore this season.
