People are really putting time and energy into a woman tweeting the NAME OF A REAL SONG and editing the offensive word with stars, as appropriate. I just can’t with people. If you really are offended by the word, get at Jay-Z and Kanye for naming their song with a word that as Q-Tip says holds “years of damage”. Argh! Quick back-story for those not keeping track: actress Gwyneth Paltrow is good friends with Jay-Z. She attended a WTT concert in Paris the other day, and tweeted a photo from the stage with the caption “N**gas in Paris for real”. The stars were her own editing. This tweet sent people up in arms over her use of the “N Word”, and prominent African-American figures like Russell Simmons came to the actress’ defense. Apparently Q-Tip doesn’t agree with this at all, and took to his Twitter to share some words on the situation. See what he had to say below. What do YOU think of all this?! Marisa Mendez

Yes, the stars were her own editing. So…how are people up in arms over this? The song is being performed, she edited the word, they’re all her friends. COMME DES F#CK DOWN!
