(Video) SNL Pays Tribute To Newtown Victims
“Saturday Night Live” took a minute out of their usual funny show to pay tribute to the victims of the Newtown, CT victims. For the show’s opening scene, New York City Children’s Chorus sang the touching song, “Silent Night.” The children’s chorus then shouted the famous “Live From New York, It’s Saturday Night!” before joining Paul McCartney during his set. Democrats To Introduce Ban On Assault Weapons On The First Day Of Congress
In wake of Friday’s tragedy at Newtown, CT, Democrat and California Senator Dianne Feinsten has announced her plan to present a bill that would ban assault weapons. Assault weapons have been used in massacres such as The Dark Knight Rises shooting and the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. President Clinton signed the original bill to ban assault weapons back in ’94. I know “guns don’t kill people, people kill people” but I don’t see the need for assault weapons and this would take the first step in stricter gun control. Many times when people say “stricter gun laws” people take that as banning guns, which is not the case. I think there should be a ban on assault weapons, there should be a limit as to how many guns a person should be allowed to own, and perhaps a mental health test of the gun owner and their families. I know there are tons of illegal guns and that needs to be stopped as well but something needs to be done ASAP to prevent massacres such as the one that claimed the lives of 20 innocent children this past Friday. Father Of Slain CT Student Speaks Out Offering “Love” To Shooter’s Family
The father of Emilie Parker, who was killed by Adam Lanza during the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre, spoke during a recent press conference about the loss of his young daughter. Robbie Parker, who moved his family to neighborhood about eight months ago, offered his condolences to the other families who lost a love on during the horrific tragedy. The girl’s father said he publicly spoke because so many wanted to know how he and the others were doing after the tragic events. NBA: (Photo) Kevin Durant Pays Small Tribute To Newtown CT
Kevin Durant paid a small tribute to the tragedy that happened in Newtown Connecticut earlier today by writing the town on his sneakers for tonight’s game. Now I realize it is a very small gesture, and I am not giving him so much credit for doing so, but it is nice to know that some of these athletes that we idolize also feel the same things we feel.
