NBA: Knicks President Phil Jackson Told Derrick Rose He’s Going After Kevin Durant Next

It’s no secret that the New York Knicks are interested in Kevin Durant but they’ve always been considered a long shot compared to the Golden State Warriors or San Antonio Spurs.  But after making a big move yesterday to get Derrick Rose from the Chicago Bulls, Knicks president Phil Jackson thinks they have a better chance.

In a shocking move, the Chicago Bulls traded Derrick Rose to the New York Knicks.  In exchange for Rose, Justin Holiday and a 2017 second-round pick, the Bulls received Robin Lopez, Jose Calderon, and Jerian Grant.  While some people feel the Knicks gave up too much for an injured Rose, others feel they gave up next to nothing for the former MVP.  Gilbert Arenas was part of the latter group.

NBA: Knicks Agree to Three-Year Deal With Jeff Hornacek as Head Coach

The New York Knicks and Jeff Hornacek have officially agreed to a three-year, $15 million contract.  There is no fourth-year option on the deal according to ESPN sources.  The annual value of Hornacek’s contract is higher than the approximately $4.5 million annually that Derek Fisher earned as a first-year coach under Jackson.
