Maybe Rex Ryan was hesitant to bench Mark Sanchez because if he wound up leaving the Jets, then Ryan himself would have a pretty silly tattoo, as if it wasn’t already silly enough. NFL: Mark Sanchez “Jets Are Destined For Great Stuff”
I almost couldn’t type the headline without laughing. Jets destined for greatness Mark? Really? Are we talking about the same Jets here? In a interview yesterday Sanchez tells of a talk he had with Rex Ryan the other day, where he suggests Ryan told him he will be the starter next season. He tried to focus on a few positive things to take away from this past season, which I guess you have to do when the entire NFL lost respect for the organization. It wasn’t so bad that the Jets were bad on the field, that is pretty common, but its the circus the Jets became off the field that turned everybody off from the team. I do not see many free agents wanting to come there in the near future. They better hope Darrell Revis comes back to 100% and that defense plays how it used to be because I just do not see Sanchez developing much further than he has. NFL: Jets Head Coach Rex Ryan Denies Report That He Wants to Get Fired
A report came out that Rex Ryan wanted out of the circus that is the New York Jets, the circus he helped create by the way. In the report is was said that Ryan wanted some serious changes in personnel including the firing of offensive coordinator Tony Sparano. Ryan however has come out and denied the allegations. NFL: (Report) Rex Ryan Wants To Get Fired??
Now if I was part of the Jets organization I probably would want to be fired also. They became a joke in the NFL this season. More of a show off the field instead of on it. It is being reported that coach Rex Ryan would rather be fired if things do not change with the team this off-season. Mainly reports say he is referring to owner Woody Johnson making some changes regarding personnel. It is not likely he will be fired since he is still owed $6 million, but you never know. In my opinion he should be fired because he himself causes the circus like atmosphere that surrounds the team at times. Most believe that also includes offensive coordinator Tony Soprano, who’s suspect play calling considering the team they have was bad most of the season. Let me clarify before I go on my rant that I am NOT a Tebow fan. I can not stand the whole media obsession with him. I wish he would disappear and save all of us headaches, especially since he isn’t that good to even be talked about as much as he is.
