Fetty Wap has long shed his “one hit wonder” predictions, and now has not one, but FOUR songs in the top 10 of Billboard‘s Hot Rap Songs chart. This makes him the first artist in its 26-year history to have their first four singles in the top 10 at the same time. His longest-running hit is of course “Trap Queen,” which still sits comfortably at number 2. It’s followed by the Monty-assisted “My Way” at number 3, the Remy Boyz-assisted “679” at number 5, and is now joined by “Again,” entering the chart for its first week at number 8.
It seems like producer extraordinaire Swizz Beats and his R&B songstress wifey Alicia Keys aren’t content with their 25,000 sq/ft mansion for one reason and one reason only – there isn’t enough room for all of their extravagant artwork! The two are such huge fans of art and they feel the need to have it all out on display, but unfortunately in order to do so, they’re going to have to find a bigger place. Swizz even has a catchy name for their impressive art collection – “Eight Acres of Showtime.”
Despite becoming quite the superstar, Fetty Wap is remaining grounded and never forgetting where he came from. As a thank you to the city that raised him, the Paterson, New Jersey native will play a free concert for 1,200 local high school students on August 27 at Bauerle Field. Announced today by Paterson Mayor Jose “Joey” Torres, tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to Paterson public high school students only, beginning August 24 at Pennington Park. Both Eastside High (Fetty‘s former school) and Kennedy High will get 300 tickets each for the show, with six other city high schools getting 100 tickets each.
New Jersey rapper Tsu Surf, who’s made a name for himself on the battle scene over the last few years, stopped by Ebro In The Morning this week on Hot 97. While talking to Ebro, Rosenberg and Laura Stylez, Tsu discussed battling, called out Murda Mook, says he’s NOT doing Summer Madness and even insinuates that Meek Mill is popping pills. Hmm!
