Cory Booker Says Hurricane Sandy Delayed Him From Making A Huge Decision

Newark Mayor Cory Booker, who is probably the greatest mayor in Newark history, stated that Hurricane Sandy delayed him from making the huge decision of running for governor of New Jersey in the 2013 election. Booker has been working hand-in-hand with current Republican governor, Chris Christie, in the state’s time of need but Booker knows that he has to make the hard decision fast. Although Governor Christie has done a great job since the storm hit, he hasn’t been the greatest governor for New Jersey in the past four years and I personally think it’s time for a change and believe Cory Booker can and will be that change. Eight NJ Companies Sued For Post-Sandy Price Gouging

Eight companies in New Jersey have been sued by the state for price gouging in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Governor Chris Christie made it illegal to raise prices after the natural disaster hit the state and urged customers to take pictures and provide the state with information on any business that had raised prices after the hurricane. Now the state has found eight companies that are disgustingly trying to take advantage of people in a time of need by raising their prices above the norm. Seven gas stations and one motel are being sued thus far, but the state has received 2,000 complaints of price gouging and has issued 170 subpoenas for business records. Read more below. Julie A.

LMAOOO! THIS Is Why Newark, NJ Mayor Cory Booker Is The Ish!

I’m not very heavily into politics, so you won’t catch me following many government officials on my Twitter (sorry Barack, you still got my vote though!). However, one person I do find quite a joy in twatching is Newark, NJ mayor, Cory Booker. With over one million followers under his belt, the politician has used social media like no other official before him to help his city, especially in times of need. During the dreadful snow storms of winter 2010/2011, Cory was getting status reports from his residents via Twitter, bringing aide to their doorstep after they alerted him of their conditions and DM’d him their address. In Hurricane Sandy, he was just as instrumental. In fact, he even opened his home to residents with no power, providing them with hot meals, movies and more! While responding to concerned citizens during a Twitter spurt yesterday, though, he received and gave the funniest tweet ever! Check it out below! Got to love him! Marisa Mendez
