Ever since the fatal car accident that went down on Saturday in New Jersey leaving comedian Tracy Morgan in critical condition, the news has been over-loading with stories on the incident. Kevin Roper, the truck driver who’s being held responsible for the whole ordeal, has been speaking out via his Twitter account. “I wish it was me and I can’t express how horrible I feel,” he says. He also went on to explain how if a celebrity was NOT involved in this accident, he would not be getting charged for anything. “[I’m being blamed] because a famous person was involved.” He wrote, “I was never charged at the scene of the accident because once again I was not guilty of any crime. Not until all the TV cameras came.” Roper also denied ALL allegations implying he was drunk and high or that he was up straight for 24+ hours. He concluded his Twitter rant saying, So yes i am now most likely f****d because i had an unfortunate ACCIDENT with the wrong car that night.” He was charged with death by auto and will most likely be looking at a decent amount of jail time.
Crash Victim’s Family Member On Tracy Morgan Accident: “The NJ Turnpike Is A Death Trap”
Over the weekend, comedian Tracy Morgan was involved in a deadly 6-car pileup on the New Jersey Turnpike that resulted in one death and numerous serious injuries that left Morgan in critical condition and is expected to have a long hospital stay. Back in April, John Visconti III was killed in yet another fatal accident on the NJ Turnpike and his mother could not hold her silence any more. His mother, Mary Visconti, was absolutely outraged by the Tracy Morgan accident and feels this is the wake-up call to fix certain things regarding the NJ Turnpike. “How many people have to die on the Turnpike before something is done? It is ridiculous,” says Visconti to TMZ regarding the safety hazards on the major highway. She says it’s time to lower the speed limit from 65 to 55 but unfortunately a Turnpike Authority manager says that’s a no go and that no changes will be made any time soon.
