The New York Knicks had a few different free agents on their board but agents have been working quickly with other teams to secure big money deals for their clients. One of the players who seemed like a sure bet to the Knicks came out and basically ethered them while killing the reports.
As expected Kevin Love opted out of his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers but that did not mean he was ready to flee. There were reports about him possibly meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers but Love ultimately decided to return to the Cavs.
NBA free agency officially kicked off at 12.00 am, July 1st and many teams, players and agents began to move quickly trying to get deals done. Veteran San Santonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich however had a different idea.
There was no surprise here; just minutes after the NBA free agency floodgates opened, Kawhi Leonard and the San Antonio Spurs shook hands on a maximum contract extension from his rookie deal.

There are several teams interested in the big man and he is expected to meet with the Lakers, Mavericks, and Knicks in addition to considering a max offer to remain with the Clippers. There’s reportedly a rift between Jordan and Clippers superstar guard Chris Paul. Well another superstar guard in LA has no such issues with Jordan and reportedly reached out to him in full recruit mode.
