All-Star weekend is usually the time for NBA players to get a break but those participating don’t actually get any rest. Those not participating don’t have much time off either. Well new NBA commissioner Adam Silver might possibly do something about that.
The All-Star parties continued last night with Carmelo Anthony and Diddy hosting a party at Ayva Center in Houston. Melo was joined by his wife Lala, Chris Brown, Sean Kingston and more. Check out the pictures after the jump.
The Sprite Slam Dunk contest did NOT live up to the hype. Despite there not being any big names people still expected a great show due to the high flyers and power dunkers in the competition. Unfortunately it fell short and was so bad some NBA stars started throwing their own names in the mix for possibly next year. Check out who after the jump.
The Saturday night All-Star festivities featured the Shooting Stars Challenge, Skills Challenge, 3-Point Shootout and the Slam Dunk contest. While the participants took center court many of the league’s bigger stars watched from the sideline. Lebron James, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler were spectators while Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul were the captains for the East and the West respectively. Of course it’s not an All-Star game without some celebrities in tow as Drake, Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys were spotted as well. Check the pictures out after the jump.
Finally the main event that everyone was waiting for the NBA Sprite Slam Dunk competition. Too bad it didn’t live up to the hype but there were some cool dunks in tow. Read more after the jump.
