All throughout high school, I would straighten my hair each week. Constantly having my mom blow-dry my hair every Sunday, because to me, pretty meant straight hair.

In fact, her natural hair is almost longer than some of the wigs she wears, she obviously just likes to change up her style frequently without having to dye or cut her real hair, leading to damage. A 12-year-old African-American girl has been given an ultimatum from her Faith Christian Academy in Orlando; either she cut off her “wild natural hair” or she gets expelled. The private Catholic school is claiming that Vanessa VanDyke’s afro-styled hair is distracting other students from their work and needs to be tamed. Check out the disturbing news report below.

Since her time in the mainstream, Nicki Minaj has become very well known for her love of colorful wigs. Never one to do the same style often, the Young Money raptress switches her ‘dos up quite frequently, from long blonde curls, to crazy pink afros, leopard print bobs and everything in between.
