On February 21st, 1965, one of the most influential African-Americans of all time was assassinated in New York City by a rival group of Black Muslims. Malcolm Little served as a minister, religious leader and a huge activist for human rights. After he was arrested and sent to jail at the tender age of 21, he discovered the teachings of Elijah Muhammad and applied it to his life. Once released, he changed his name to Malcolm X to represent his stolen African identity. X went on to form various organizations including the Organization of Afro-American Unity which fought hard to fight general racism as apposed to solely bashing the white race. Today we remember Malcolm X for everything he has done to shape our current day society and to have fought for what he believes in. May you rest in peace, X.
WHAT?! Rihanna Gets Kicked Out Of WHERE?!
Tsk Tsk Tsk…will RiRi ever stay away from trouble? The, “Pour It Up” diva just went to Abu Dhabi where she most likely put on a stellar performance, but while there, she stopped by the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque complex [Muslim place of worship] and got kicked out. Wait, What? Muslim Woman Claims Waiter Put BACON In Her Straw On Purpose?!
A Muslim-convert named Nicole Queen is claiming that while she was eating at TGI Friday’s in Dallas, her waiter got mad because she sent back her Cobb salad due to the fact there was bacon in it. The woman says she explained to the server that Muslims are forbidden to eat pork, while apologizing profusely for the inconvenience. Queen says, “Me and my friends were like, ‘Let’s be extra nice to him, because maybe he’s not comfortable with us because we’re Muslim,’” However according to Queen, the employees at Fridays did the unthinkable. Muslim Abercrombie & Fitch Worker Is Suing The Company For WHAT?!?!
Citing A&F’s notorious dress policy as unfair, 18-year-old Hani Khan took her issues to court. Khan was fired from the brand’s Hollister store in San Mateo California back in 2010 because she refused to remove her hijab while on the clock.
