Migos’ Offset has been in jail since April for drug and weapons charges. Yesterday he appeared for his fourth bail hearing and was finally granted his wish. Hit the jump for more.
Offset has been behind bars since he and his entire Migos crew got locked up in the spring, and though the rest got out, he’s remained because of a previous record. He continues to try to make a case to demand his release, saying prosecutors’ “evidence” he caused a fight in jail just doesn’t add up. In recently-filed documents, Offset says video footage from inside the jail shows no clear image of him, and only lasts for 20 seconds. He says that even if it were him, how could a “riot” only last 20 seconds? He will appear in a bail hearing today, making for his fourth attempt to be released.
Despite the fact that one of their members has remained behind bars for some months, that has not stopped the other two members from releasing project after project. The current duo decided that they would continue with new music with the announcement of an upcoming mixtape, Migo Money, which will feature beats by DeeMoney. Although there is no definitive release date, Migos makes fans patiently wait with the release of two new singles, “Story of YRN” and “I Told You”. Find out more after the jump.
Migos member Offset has been behind bars since this spring, when the entire group was arrested alongside affiliates Rich The Kid and Skippa Da Flippa following a performance at a Georgia college. Eventually, everyone but Offset was bailed out, as he had a previous record that added additional trouble. Now months later, he’s still there, and Takeoff and Quavo have an update on what’s going on. Check out what they told Vlad TV below.
Earlier this year, Atlanta-based rapper Skippa Da Flippa (who is credited for popularizing “The Dab” dance) was arrested alongside all three members of Migos during a show at a Georgia college. Both Skippa as well as two out of three Migos members were eventually released (Offset still remains behind bars because of his previous record,) but now Skippa is right back in. DJ Akademiks reports he was arrested on fugitive charges in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, following a show this past Friday night. There are no further details about the incident and it is not immediately known whether this is related to his previous arrest. We’ll keep you updated!
