Straight Outta Compton, the N.W.A. biopic, released a little of over a week and a half ago. The film pulled in more than $56 million in its first two days, but that success did not make a difference to some of the women in Dr. Dre’s past. Singer Michel’le and Dee Barnes both spoke out on film, explaining there thoughts on why Dre left their roles out of the film. The two accused the entrepreneur of being abusive, which was his reasoning for the lack of mention in movie on the historical rap group, according to the women. For his past actions, Dre made an attempt to apologize. “Twenty-five years ago I was a young man drinking too much and in over my head with no real structure in my life. However, none of this is an excuse for what I did,” Dre said. “I deeply regret what I did and know that it has forever impacted all of our lives.” Michel’le is not accepting the apology. “I don’t think it’s sincere,” she says.
