Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter is all those things (and more), but he’s also one of the biggest players in the sports scene, especially in his native New York. With the release of his latest album Watch The Throne, a collaboration with Kanye West, SI.com decided it was time to dedicate a gallery solely to Jiggaman’s many sports appearances. Air Jordan 12 has a big year coming up in 2012 with the releases of the the ‘Taxis’, ‘Obsidians’ and ‘Playoffs’. Rack up them 12’s up next year and as my ’90 crew and Air Jordan lovers ready for a rude awaking. As the dates for these are not solid, when I get them I will let you know. Kicks: Air Jordan 1 Retro ‘Banned’ (Imagine)
The last time we saw these ‘Banned’ Jordans, the Black/Varsity Red colorway with the upper leather material the type you might call it pleather. This came out features a distressed leather material. The shoe is already 20 years plus, but if it wasn’t for this shoe being banned from the NBA the whole jordan collection wouldn’t have that same feel in my opinion. This sample you see here is a ‘B-Grade’ version (a Nike product with a minor factory defect) and was recently sold online. The Air Jordan V Retro Wolf Grey will be the 2nd release of the 2011 Jordan Brand‘s schedule. This release is Tomorrow, and this wolf grey has been worn by Drake in the studio in March.
