(Video) NBA: Classic Video Of Lebron Facing Carmelo In High School

Carmelo Anthony & Lebron James are the biggest names in NBA free agency this off season. They have been big names though now for about 12-13 years and they have been competing against each other for just as long. In February 2002, James’ St. Vincent-St. Mary High School (Akron, Ohio) and Anthony’s Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Virginia) squared off in Trenton, New Jersey. James dropped 36 points on 12-of-27 shooting, and he also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out five assists. Anthony put up 34 points on 14-of-25 shooting and had 11 rebounds. In a battle of two young stars, it was Anthony’s team that pulled out the victory, 72-66.

NBA: Lebron Is Being Quiet But These Four Teams Have A Serious Chance To Sign Him

Unlike back in the summer of 2010 when Lebron made his famous “decision” he is doing things differently this time. When I say doing things differently that actually means he isn’t doing anything at all. Bron has been sending his agent to do all the work of meeting with potential teams and weeding out the least likely scenarios compared to the realistic ones. If you remember back then, Bron was meeting with teams all over the country in what turned out to be one of the biggest dramas on television which eventually led to him signing with the Heat. This time around it is the Heat that are the frightened team as they sit and watch and can do nothing. According to Bron’s agent the list is down to four other teams that have a legit chance to snatch him away from South Beach.

NBA: LeBron James, Dwyane Wade & Chris Bosh Meeting to Discuss Contract Options

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade opted out of their contracts with the Miami Heat and Chris Bosh is expected to do the same.  Heat president Pat Riley’s reported plan is to have everyone opt-out and re-sign for less money so they can upgrade the roster.  The plan looks to be working out as the Big 3 are reportedly coming together to discuss their contract options.

NBA: Dwyane Wade Opts-Out of Contract With Miami Heat

Earlier today it was announced that Udonis Haslem opted out of his contract with the Miami Heat.  Now Dwyane Wade has joined him and LeBron James who have all become free agents.

NBA: Udonis Haslem Opts-Out of Miami Heat Contract

The apparent plan for the Miami Heat is for everyone to opt-out of their contracts to sign longer term deals with more guaranteed money overall but less in the immediate future in order to upgrade the roster.  LeBron James has opted out and Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are expected to do the same.  While its unclear if they’ll return, Udonis Haslem’s move is reportedly to help execute the plan.

(Photos) NBA: Could Miami Heat Draft Pick Shabazz Napier Help Keep Lebron In South Beach

Last night the Miami Heat didn’t have a draft pick until #26 but they were able to make a move that MIGHT save their franchise. The Heat moved up two spots to #24 to draft UCONN point guard Shabazz Napier to possibly be the future of running the team. There was more to this move also however. Napier is a favorite of Lebron James who has complimented him in the past and even did it again last night after the pick was made. The Heat are hoping this could show Bron they are willing to do what makes him happy to stay. Hit the jump.
